04 Feb 1688/89. The suite of Elenor Alding agt. Mr. Henry Thacker is dismist. Elenor Alding comes into Courte & declares upon her Oath that Mr. Henry Thacker hath had carnall knowledge of her & upon her body and did begett a Childe of which she was delivered in Aprill last; & ye said Elenor further declareing that she is not able to keepe ye sd. childe but that ye Pish: must take care of the same; It is therefore ordered that Mr. Henry Thacker, the reputed Father of the sd. Childe doe keepe and mainteyne the sd. Childe & for ever save the Pish: (Parish) harmeless, &c.
