If you folks are associating the plaque presented by the National Association of Leavitts with burial at Pine Grove, Hampton, N.Hampshire, USA, it's correct. But, whoever placed the place of birth as Tixover, Rutland, England (United Kingdom), please show your documentation. Decades, centuries have been spent finding the birth and parents of farmer Thomas Leavitt with no success. Best research indicates he was from Colchester, Essex, England.
This is where the proposed ancestry comes from.

To be clearer, the article is from 1914, and I believe unsupported by more contemporary studies. So I’ve added this note to profile:
Thomas Leavitt is NOT a known son of Thomas Levett, Jr. and Margaret Lindley. His birthdate is seen as 11//1616 at Tixover, Rutland, England with insufficient supporting evidence.
