To be clearer, the article is from 1914, and I believe unsupported by more contemporary studies. So I’ve added this note to profile:

Thomas Leavitt is NOT a known son of Thomas Levett, Jr. and Margaret Lindley. His birthdate is seen as 11//1616 at Tixover, Rutland, England with insufficient supporting evidence.

“ Decades, centuries have been spent finding the birth and parents of farmer Thomas Leavitt with no success. Best research indicates he was from Colchester, Essex, England.”
