Hello,
Sir Nicolas de Leycester is stated to be born 1250. His Mother Blanche d'Artois is stated to be 1248. Dates do not relate to each other.
Can anyone help to clarify this please.

Thanks

I do not think Sir Nicholas de Leycester was the son of Blanche of Artois

I think you are right but lots of ancestry web state she was. Who do you think are his parents?

I think we don’t know. He married “up.”

“Lecester of Talley” pedigree in Visitation - he’s top of the pedigree.

Wow - you certainly are an expert. The info I have that he is the son of Edmund Crouchback and Blanch d'Artois seems wrong. Nicolas seems to be local guy "made good" when he married Margaret Dutton?
i have only being researching my family tree for a short while but happy to be a descendant of Sir Nicolas.
I have also found I have a blood line to William The Conqueror albeit it was through Robert 1st Earl of Gloucester - illegitimate son of Henry I.
Thanks for your help
