Wikitree is wrong.

Older genealogies mixed up daughter in law Ann Wilcox with the the fathers wife. The discussion is within the profiles, I’ll pull them out.

But notice the comment at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Willocke-6

Profile Managers: This profile appears to be a conflation of John Hall Sr.'s wife Esther (who died in England before immigrating), and Anne Wilcox who married John Hall Jr, and who is the wife who died in 1673. See discussion and sources on John Hall Sr.

” His widow, Ann, d. July 20, 1673, aged ab. 57. [NO] [This man's son John married, as his first wife, Ann, daughter of John Wilcox. There is no evidence that this John Hall had a second wife.] [1]

"Ann Wilcox has often been assigned to John1 Hall, Sr., as a second wife, in former accounts. L. Effingham de Forest in Moore and Allied Families (1938), 289, gives reasons for rejecting this view, though he leaves the question open. The will of John1 Hall names no wife, though he survived Ann; she was called wife (not widow) of John (not described as senior) in the record of her death. She was more suitable in age for John,2 and presumably John2 was married before his marriage to a widow when he was about 55 years old."

There’s an unsourced note in https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Hall-3159

Esther Willicke, Married 1619 in Kent County, England. Died in 1632 and is buried at Kent and Sussex Cemetery and Crematorium, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England

I can’t find the record at Ancestry.

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/178266383/esther-hall Is definitely wrong.

Tagging Esther Hall so we know what we’re talking about.

There are sources listed here

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/178266383/esther-hall Just wrong. The death date of 20 Jul 1673 is the Death of 20 Jul 1673 on https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/194687251/ann-hall - the Daughter in law - who was the daughter of John and Mary Wilcock.

The genealogies agree that John Hall Sr.’s wife Esther died in England before he emigrated, so before 1633. So we must look to English records for this Esther.

1. John1 Hall, born in Co. Kent, England, had married Esther , who died in England. He was described in the Roxbury church records, 1638, as " Mr." and when he reached Hart- ford he was known as " John Hall, Senior," because the John Hall who had accompanied Mr. Oldham in his 1633 excursion to Windsor, was younger. This John Hall rem. from Hartford to New Haven and then to Wallingford. Mr. James Shepard of New Britain, in his pamphlet, has clearly distinguished between the two Johns who resided at the same time, though only for a few years, in Hartford. …
