Abner Spencer - Marriage of Lydia M Pattyson and Abner Spencer

In researching the Pattyson family when it relates to the Spencer family, we find numerous spellings of the surname Pattyron, i.e Pattison, Petterson
Peterson, Patterson. In finding numerous referrals to the Pattyson family in early publications (1850s and before) the name is most often spelled Pattison. In my own research and my own manuscripts I continue to use the spelling as Pattison. It night be wise for other researchers to develop their own preferred spelling of the name and adhere to it throughout their searching and writing.
