Pentti Mattila, my Finnish is rather bad. But if I understand you correctly you are writing about your fathers cousin who was sent to Sweden during the war and forgotten his Finnish. And in your blog you are discribing some Finnish-Swedish history? I guess for many of us who are not so good in Finnish we can read some about our common Swedish-Finnish history in the book "När Finland var Sverige" by Herman Lindqvist. (In Sweden there are only about 200 000 persons who speak Finnish, as you might know. English is easier for most of us Swedish-speaking and children here it more often because of all the movies, TV, and computer games are in English).

Unfortunately I haven´t read all the books you recommend, Pentti Mattila. But some books I have found interesting is "Djävulens krig" by Kustaa HJ Vilkuna and "Blod är tunnare än vatten" by Jörn Donner. "Okänd soldat" of course by Väinö Linna. And I like Magnus Västerbros books as well, "Tyrannens tid", "Svälten: hungeråren som formade Sverige" and "Pestens år, döden i Stockholm 1710". If someone would like to recommend me more history books in Swedish or English about Finnish and Swedish history, please tell me! I love to read good history books!
