Joseph Boon of Johnston County, NC

My line of the Boone family can be easily traced to Johnston county North Carolina as early as the late 17th century with Joseph Boon (wives: Sarah Bass, Lydie Powell, and Hester Strickland). The problem arise with the lineage of his earlier ancestors. There has been a lot of confusion with regards to “Thomas Boon of Isle of Wight County, Virginia.” published by Rupert Farnham Thompson. In the years since it was published many holes were found in in the origins of the early Boone family, beginning with “Thomas Boone.” The genealogy prior Joseph Boone‘s father (Joseph Boone, Junior) is as far as I can get. I would like to use this forum for those following the Boone Family researching this problem area
