"A king named Harald and he ruled over Vendland. He was a wise man, but no great warrior. He had a queen, and a beautiful and well-behaved daughter, whose name was Alfhild. King Gautrek gets ready and goes to Vendland to ask for King Harald's daughter. The courtship was well received, and no matter what they talked about, it ended up with King Gautrek getting the maid.
