I4a Mitochondrial DNA haplogroup

I4a and my earliest known ancestor is Maria Ludovica VANCALBERGH B:29 Jan 1825 Roeselare, West Flanders, Belgium, D:22 Sep 1899 Roeselare, West Flanders, Belgium.

My parents are double related somewhere. I suspect through more than 2-3 connections because there are several sets of siblings marrying other siblings in addition to some 1st & 2nd cousin marriages. My daddy's Haplogroup is M-269 & my mtdna is I4a. If all information is correct, Geni is showing that you are my 15th cousin on my paternal side & the in-law relationship shows that you are my first cousin 5x removed husband's third cousin 6x removed. However, that is just through my paternal side. I have tried walking the tree with my maternal side numerous times & Geni keeps connecting me to others with just my paternal links. Would like to figure out how you & I are connected through my maternal side.

That is a mouthful to try to say...lol However, that is just through my paternal side. Private User I have actually made some real I4a DNA connections over the past month. I tested on FTDNA and through that I was able to find a connection who's maternal line I was able to map to mine. It was really cool, my first breakthrough using I4a. I also use Ancestry as my main research "hub." My Ancestry account is set to private because I am making sure I have all the right documents as proof included before I publish it live.
