This is incorrect. Emily Beery, Stephen Wallace Beery and Mae Beery were half siblings. Their mother was Mary McGoldrick from County Cork, Ireland who died in childbirth when Mae was 2. They were brought up by their grandmother Virginia Constance Risley Beery Avery who remarried General Robert Avery a Union general after Stephen Beery a Confederate soldier died at the age of 32.
