Nicholas Knapp - Birth Place

What certainty is there for his place of birth? One source I saw stated (unknown rationale) that he was "probably born in Bures St Mary [Parish], Suffolk, England.

A scholarship-valuing Knapp descendant on FamilySearch is adamant about two things:
1. Nicholas' birthplace isn't proven, except that he was born in England.
2. Recent Barbour Collection records are dated using O.S., which dates must be adjusted to the modern calendar. Apparently, "The Great Migration" mega-source adjusted dates to N.S., but the indexed Barbour Collection dates have not.
