According to a Sons of the American revolution application by a great-grandson of Alice's and an apparent great-nephew of William's (William is not mentioned on the application), she was born in 1769 (not 59); I have changed the record. That would make her ~45 at William's birth, which, while rare, is not out of the realm of possibility. He was apparently twenty years old when he married (1834), in the same Ohio county that his father is buried in. He was also apparently last-born of their family. I don't see any other records beyond these to provide any more confirmation. David and Alice Swayze are my 4th great-grandparents on my mother's side.
