Little Britain at that time was more of a community, would not be a Township. William Penn allotted a section of his purchase to Mr. Lancaster. Whether by purchase, trade, or whatever reason. Lancaster's section was not called a County till after the Revolutionary War of 1812. Pennsylvania was not a State at that time. 1758 is actually 50 years before the beginning of actions that lead to the Revolutionary War of 1812.
