Sarah Bausch Age 5 years old was a passenger on the Earl of Charlemont along with her Brother Frederick Bausch aged 3 Years old and her parents: (Mother) Eleanor aged 29 and (Father) Ferdinand aged 34 years old who was Witness at Board of Enquiry.

The Earl of Charlemont sailed from Liverpool on13 March1853 with 366 passengers plus crew. The captain wasWilliam Gardner - his first port of call in Australia was to be Port Phillip Bay before taking the majority of his passengers to Sydney, Australia. On Saturday 18 June 1953the ship was wrecked of Barwon Heads after striking a reef which now bears its name - Charlemont Reef.
