I'm unsure how James' name went to James Samuel and then just Samuel, as I've always seen him as James. He and Mary are my direct ancestor and I was working backward on a DNA matching cousin on Ancestry who shares this line going back via David Eli Bruton to his parents Mary Branch and James Bruton. The DNA match wouldn't work with the parents Ralph Olin Bruton and Mary Willford.
