John Going Sr b. abt 1705 – d. ? (after 1769 as he personally appears in Court in Lunenburg Co, Va at that time and gives testimony as John Going Sr. He is possibly the John Going whose widow Elizabeth receives an inventory from a Daniel Finn in Lancaster Co, SC in 1784).
John Going married Mary Keith (child of Cornelius Keith), lived in Stafford Co, Va 1710, Fairfax Co, Va 1743-46, Lunenburg Co, Va 1748-61, Orange Co, NC.
John Going's marriage date to Mary Keith is unknown. Mary Keith is the daughter of Cornelius Keith. They are likely married in Stafford County, Va. Cornelius Keith arrives in the Colony of Virginia about 1709 (he is shown in Maryland from 1707-1709 – he appears to come to Virginia from Maryland in 1709). He is shown as holding a patent to land “on the north side of the Occoquan River near Ridgewell.”
