I would dearly like to obtain more information about Pte H Booth, SAMC. He was initially from the 7th SA Horse Regiment, I believe. Medals that were awarded to him were as follows:
1) 1914 - 1915 Star (marked Pte H Bond SAMC)
2) British War medal 1914 - 1920 (marked Pte H Bond 7th SA H)
3) Allied Victory Medal 1914 - 1919 (marked Pte H Bond 7th SA H)
The only markings on the rim of the second two medals are therefore his rank, initial, surname and unit. I believe these mounted regiments we raised after the GSWA campaign for service in GEA. They were initially organised into brigades with supporting machine gun detachments.
