[ETIENNE de Courtenay (-1101). Etienne is shown as the son of Joscelin [I] and his first wife in Burke´s Peerage but the primary source on which this is based has not yet been identified. The Historia of Monk Aimon records the mother of Guy and Renard de Joigny as the only child of Joscelin by his first wife, which suggests that Etienne must have been born from his father´s second marriage, although the same source does not name Etienne as one of Joscelin´s sons by his second marriage. m HERSENT de Montereau, daughter of ---. This marriage is shown in Burke´s Peerage but the primary source on which it is based has not yet been identified.] Etienne & his wife had one child, Adam de Chailly.
