Nikolai Petrovich Roshchin-Insarov

Roshchin-Insarov is a pseudonym, his real name is Pashenny. He came from a landowner's family, spent his childhood in Paris. At the age of 18, he entered the Sumy 1st Hussar Regiment as a cornet, and two years later he entered the reserve [2].

Even during military service he was an amateur actor; entered the professional scene in 1883. Nikolai Petrovich served on the stage of the P. M. Medvedev Theater in Astrakhan, the Korsh Theater, the theaters of M. M. Abramova and E. N. Goreva in Moscow, from 1895 until the end of his life he was an actor in the theater of N. N. Solovtsov in Kiev [2] .

Tragically died on January 8 (20), 1899[2]. The actor was shot by the artist A. Malov, jealous of his wife, the actress of the Solovtsov Theater Anna Paskhalova. The grave of Roshchin-Insarov has been preserved at the Baikove cemetery in Kiev.

Daughters: Maly Theater actress Vera Nikolaevna Pashennaya and Ekaterina Nikolaevna Roshchina-Insarova (nee Pashennaya; 1883-1970), Russian drama actress, in exile since 1919.

Рощин-Инсаров — это псевдоним, настоящая его фамилия Пашенный. Происходил из помещичьей семьи, детство провел в Париже. В 18 лет поступил корнетом в Сумский 1-й гусарский полк, спустя два года вышел в запас[2].

Ещё во время военной службы был актёром-любителем; на профессиональную сцену вышел в 1883 году. Николай Петрович служил на сцене театра П. М. Медведева в Астрахани, театра Корша, театров М. М. Абрамовой и Е. Н. Горевой в Москве, с 1895 года до конца жизни актёр театра Н. Н. Соловцова в Киеве[2].

Трагически погиб 8 (20) января 1899 года[2]. Актёра застрелил художник А. Малов, приревновав к нему свою жену — актрису театра Соловцова Анну Пасхалову. Сохранилась могила Рощина-Инсарова на Байковом кладбище в Киеве.

Дочери: актриса Малого театра Вера Николаевна Пашенная и Екатерина Николаевна Рощина-Инсарова (урожд. Пашенная; 1883—1970), русская драматическая актриса, в эмиграции с 1919 года.
