Second Wife - Karolina Strasser

Information provided by Petra Pospechova, Director of the Pezinok Museum, to Tom Reisner in Email dated 17 Jan 2017 (with thanks).

The house on Kollarova Street Nr. 1 belonged to Samuel Reisner and his wife Karolina Strasser since 1877. It was a former noble house (curia or manor-house), owned by several noble families from Pezinok. The last one before Samuel was Countess Maria Amalia Palffy.

In 1900 and 1905 the co-owners of the house became Samuel´s children Henrich, Natan, Jakub, Maria, Tereza and Roza.

In 1909 Henrich and Natan became the sole owners and in 1917 they sold the house to a Bank for 76000 crowns. Even after the sale Henrich with his family lived in the house.

Henrich had a business in Pezinok – he produced and sold rum and liqueurs. During the war the business was Aryanized. In July 1942 Henrich and his wife Rozalia (Ružena) were transported to Zilina camp and from there probably to one of the concentration camps in Poland. In 1947 Helena was declared dead by the District Court in Pezinok.

Samuel Reisner married Karolina Strasser, details of the marriage still being investigated. Main information obtained from marriages of their children, in which some state - Samuel was a widower when he married Karolina.
