About 施瑞芳 May Ho
May was the second child of Andrew Zimmern and Ms. Chow, a Soochow beauty. Both of May’s parents had passed away when she was a teenager, and her stepmother Mary was in charge of the family, which was then in a comparatively humble situation.
Under the arrangement of Mary, May was married to Ho Sai Wa, a son of Ho Kom Tong, though she was in love with Archie Roberts, a son of their neighbour. Archie was heart-broken but could not help, since he was young and penniless.
Years later Lee Wai San, Archie’s mother, became the concubine of Ho Fook. Through the help of Ho Fook, Archie made his first bucket of gold and married Ruby Hall, a daughter of Sin Tak Fan.
