郭慎墀 Sydney James"Jimmy" Lowcock

Jimmy was the 7th headmaster of the Diocesan Boys’ School, Hong Kong (tenure 1961-1983). He was a remote cousin of his predecessor George Zimmern. George was a good friend of Jimmy’s father Henry, and was the best man in the wedding of Henry and Mabel in 1926.

Jimmy never married. He continued the philanthropy of George Zimmern in DBS and spent almost all his income for the boys, including paying for school fees, athletic equipments and so on. As the result he found himself with almost no savings upon retirement. The old boys raised a fund and purchased for Jimmy a flat in Clear Water Bay, thus provided him a nice environment to spend the rest of his life.

石庸的四兄黃福康（1899-1965，上圖）在50年代曾任東華及博愛總理以及孔聖堂常董及深水埗坊會理事，以福康公司從事地產及福和欄在油麻地經營菓菜業務（有近百年歷史的果欄建築物仍在但招牌字體已剝落)，是元朗十八街的大業主，區內的福康街，福德街及壽富街便是以他及其父命名，他及後人亦曾於57-73年在元朗同樂街物業經營康莊街市，可說是第一代街市大王。福康有三妻妾生十四子女，二太生的奕培（Raymond)娶拔萃校長郭慎墀的妹妹郭儀貞（Alwyn Lowcock，1932-2019）為妻
