About Thomas Coventry
Thomas Coventry, 2nd Baron Coventry, he was the first son of Sir Thomas Coventry, 1st Baron Coventry, and his first wife, Sarah. He succeeded as Baron Coventry in 1640. he married Mary Craven, daughter of Sir William Craven, in April 1627. Together they had two sons: George, later the 3rd Baron Coventry, and Thomas, later the 5th Baron Coventry, and two daughters, both of whom died young. He served as MP for Worcestershire and in 1633 became Councillor for Wales. He was buried at Croome D'Abitot.
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Droitwich from 1625 to 1626.
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Worcester from 1628 to 1629.
He held the office of Councillor of Wales in 1633.
He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron Coventry of Aylesborough, co. Worcester [E., 1628] on 14 January 1639/40.
He was Joint Commissioner of Array of Worcestershire in 1642.
In 1655 he was a Cavalier and was imprisoned.
