“Together Again”

KINSMAN - A. Keith Bahler, 97, died on Friday, May 6, 2016, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

He was born on Jan. 13, 1919, in Sugarcreek, a son of Treva (Baker) and Albert C. Bahler.

Formerly of Akron, Mr. Bahler was a graduate of Sugarcreek High School and went on to graduate with a degree in Education from Kent State University and later graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Dairy Technology in the College of Agriculture from The Ohio State University. Mr. Bahler served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On July 5, 1941, he married Helen E. Schneiter. Together, they moved to Kinsman in 1963.

Mr. Bahler worked for the former Sealtest of Akron and of Kinsman for over 19 years and later worked for the former Target Stamped Products of Kinsman for over 15 years, until he retired in 1984. He was an active member of the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, having served as elder, trustee and deacon and in the men’s group. Mr. Bahler was member of Northeastern Dairy Tech Society and was a charter member of the Kinsman Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed reading, gardening, playing golf and restoring furniture.

Mr. Bahler was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Helen E. Bahler; and a sister, Hope Marquardt.

He leaves two daughters, Karen E. (Ronald) Novak of Burghill and Christina H. Bahler of Cortland; two grandchildren, Brian (Julie) Novak of Charlotte, N.C. and Dana (Randy) Novak-Messick of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; and four great-grandchildren, Oliver, Henry and Lilah Novak-Messick, and Gemma Bing Novak.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Kinsman Presbyterian Church, 6383 Church St., Kinsman, with the Rev. Susan Francis officiating. Burial will follow at Kinsman Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 8569 Main St., Kinsman.
