Aaron Hershberger Eitnier

Mr. Aaron H. Eitnier, 19 year-old son of Aaron Eitnier, blacksmith, met with a gunning accident on Saturday forenoon, which will doubtlessly maim him for life. He was gunning for rabbits near this place and had run one up and, in the excitement oyer the chase did not take the best of care as to the safe handling of the gun as he crossed a fence with the result that the gun was discharged through the palm of the left hand, from the lower part, upward at an angle of about 50°, almost severing the thumb and terribly lacerating the flesh. It was some time until the family physician arrived, during which time the wound was swollen to such an extent as to make it impossible lor him to determine the full nature of the wound. It is a most dangerous wound but Mr, Eit. nier's friends are hoping for the best.
