Abijah Vaughn was born 3 Nov. 1730 in Middleboro, Mass.to John Vaughan and Jerusha Wood Vaughan. Abijah was one of six children born to John and Jerusha.
Abijah married Nathaniel Bumpas on either 7 Dec. 1751 or 6 July 1752 in Middleboro. To this union were born seven children: Lydia Bumpas Maxham, Joseph Bumpas III, Nathaniel Bumpas, Jr., Isaac Bumpas (went by Bump), Zenas Bumpas, Lucy Bumpas Wood and Mary Bumpas.
Abijah died 8 May 1775 in Middleboro.
