ABNER5 ASHLEY (SAMUEL4, SARAH3 WADSWORTH, ELIZABETH2 STONE, JOHN1) was born 10 May 1722 in Hampton, Connecticut, and died 17 Feb 1801 in Hampton, Connecticut. He married (1) MARY CRESSEY 05 Mar 1746 in Hampton, Connecticut, daughter of DANIEL CRESSEY and SARAH INGLESON. She was born 11 Apr 1724 in Salem, Massachusetts, and died 17 Feb 1786 in Hampton, Connecticut. He married (2) PATIENCE BARROWS 14 Dec 1791 in Tolland, Tolland, Connecticut.

"His [Samuel Ashley's] will, dated 29 Dec. 1766, mentions his '* eldest son Samuel has already had his share," but gives him, " my oldest gun," his son Abner, " one acre and five shillings," grandchildren, Elizabeth Bemis and Susan and Abigail Hovey, and his son Joseph, " all my real estate, lands, buildings, timber, fences, and all movable estate outdoor and indoor." [Wind. Prob. Rec, vol. 8, p. 203.]"
