Was veteran of French & Indian War and Revolutionary War. The Covalt settlement was begun in 1789. Capt. Covalt and John Hinkle were killed by Indians in Mar. of 1791. His son Abraham Covalt Jr. had been killed by Indians in Jan. of 1791. Abel Cook had been killed by Indians on Feb. 27,1791. Mrs. Covalt who died in 1843, was allegedly buried next to the Capt. "The original cemetery for Covalt Stn. also called Bethany Town now known as Terrace Park,OH. No visible remains of cemetery exist. Was within 60 ft of mill on stream now called Red Bird Creek. Years of earth moving,etc. have removed all traces of cemetery and mill. A church sits on the site of the nearby old fort.(rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/oh/hamilton/cemeteries/covalt)

The original is in a museum in</p></p><p><p>Cincinnati, Ohio.</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p> Abraham Covalt lived at an unknown place.1 Covalt's Station was onthe west bank of the Little Miami River between 1/8 and 1/4 of a mile south of the north section line of fractional section 23, Columbia Twp, Hamilton Co, OH a little more than 1/2 mile south of Milford, Clermont Co, OH. Captain Abraham Covalt purchased 600 acres in fractional sections 22 and 23 in Columbia Twp. Public Records show several hundred acres transferred by Captain Covalts descendants.</p><p><p>Covalt Station Marker</p></p><p><p>Covalt Station Marker</p></p><p><p>He was born on 8 October 1742 at Glastonbury, CT.2 He was the son of Abraham Colt (Covalt) and Elizabeth Gustin.
