He was a farmer. The diary of Jacob Niebuhr (b. 4 May 1862) says he died 10 Dec 1827, but NARA microfilm #T81 610 says he died 10 Jul 1827. Abraham and Elizabeth had two other children prior to when his daughter Elizabeth was born in 1792 (Bergmann, 1995). According to Niebuhr, they may have been married in 1794.
