A H Miller, one of the old residents of Marshall county, died at Melbourne last Friday after an illness of only four days, although it was noticed that he was in failing health for several months.
Private funeral services were conducted Saturday at Melbourne by Rev W E Pitcher, pastor of the Christian church there, and burial was made in the Dunkard cemetery.
Abram H Miller was born in Somerset county, Pennsylvania, April 17, 1842. When he was eight years old he moved with his parents to Ohio. October 6, 1865, he was married to Elizabeth Fleming, at Waterloo, Iowa, and in 1869 they came to this county, settling on a farm four miles south of State Centre. Here they lived until his wife died in 1891 when Mr Miller moved to Melbourne, where he has resided most of the time since, being actively engaged in the grain and lumber business with his son.
Mr Miller is survived by one son and three daughters, L G Miller of Melbourne, Mrs J D Ludeld of Valpariso, Nebraska, Mrs W F Brimhall of this place and Miss Margaret Miller of Iowa Falls.
One daughter, Mrs Alda Zwilling, died a number of years ago.
