The Record Express, Thurs., June 8, 1939, p. 8: Abraham J. Shaak Abraham J. Shaak, well-known grocery store manager at Rothsville for many years, died Thursday afternoon at the Lancaster General hospital where he had been under treatment for the past eight weeks. He was in his fifty-second year of age.
Private funeral services were held from the home Sunday at 2:15 P. M., followed by public services in the Jerusalem Lutheran church in Rothsville. Interment was made in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Shaak was a resident of Rothsville for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran church there and was the son of the Samuel and Mary Douple Shaak.
He is survived by his wife who was Anna Wagner, one daughter, Violet, wife of Leon B. Risser, and two grandchildren. One brother, Samuel Shaak, Lititz, and two sisters, Mrs. John Keith, Brickerville, and Mrs. John Krepp, Myerstown, also survive.
Beck Brothers, Lititz, were the funeral directors in charge.
