Abram Bronstein

Concerning year of birth 1894 in many old Russian documents / sources: January 03, 1895 Gregorian calendar is the same day as December 22, 1894 Julian Calendar. Russia used Julian calendar until year 1918.

Sources:

1. Directories of St-Petersburg merchants for years 1895-1916. The records in the directories listed not only a merchant, but also his spouse, sons (with age), daughters (without age), spouses of sons, and grandchildren.

2. A list of people who fought in White Army and/or emigrated from the USSR after the revolution of 1917.

3. Personal records from Yad Vashem database of the victims of Genocide: extract from the list of people murdered in Auschwitz death camp, prepared by the murderers, and a profile entered by his daughter.

4. Arrested at home on December 12th 1941 ("rafle des notables" i.e. "notabilities roundup"), interned same day in Compiègne Camp.

5. The book Ossip Mandelstam and his Time: Analysis of Texts by A.G. Metz (http://www.ruthenia.ru/reprint/Mets_Mandelshtam.pdf ), page 111, graduate #160, in Russian. confirms that Abram Bronstein graduated from Tenishev High School May 12, 1912.

Насчёт 1894 года рождения во многих старых русских документах / источниках: день рождения 03 января 1895 года по новому стилю соответствует 22 декабрю 1894 по старому.
