Abram Beemer Dunning, Jr.

PROF. A. B. DUNNING, JR., is the principal of the graded school at White Haven, having located there in 1878. He was born in Scranton, Pa., March 26th, 1853. He graduated as a civil engineer from the Starkey Seminary, Yates county, N. Y. with the highest honors of his class.

Abram(III) was the son of Abram Beemer Dunning(Jr.)b.Mar.26,1853-d.Nov.3,1932. He married on June 17, 1885, to Edna May Sears,(born Jan.14,1863). They had the following family. Ellen Violetta, Katherine Wirts, Marion(Dolly), Abram (III)-your line-, Hollis Butler, and Janette Sabra. I have notes that say that all 6 children married. Abram(Jr.) was the son of Abram Beemer Dunning,(b.mar.21,1821-d.Dec.30,1897) who married Mar.21,1848 to Mahala Viletta Heermans(b.July30,1829-d.Jan.1,1895) and had the following children. Ellen Viletta,Samantha E. Abram Beemer(your line),Carrie Emma, and Harry Gilbert. In my notes only the 2 sons married but only Abram had children to carry on the line.

Abram Beemer Dunning was the son of Gilbert Dunning(b.Apr.23,1792-d.May17,1866) who married on Nov.14,1812 to Catherine Beemer(b.Jan.6,1794-d.Jan.24,1879) and they had the following children. John Chauncey, Mehitable, Elizabeth, Abram Beemer(your line) Gabriel, and Catherine Wirts. In my notes John,Mehitable,Abram and Catherine married and had families.

Gilbert Dunning was the son of Abraham Dunning(b.Oct.24,1766-d.Nov.7,1853) and was married to his 1st wife Mehitable Young(b.July 16,1769 and d.c1795). They had 2 sons Gilbert(your line) and Benjamin (my line) Abraham married a second time to a widow <Elizabeth(Jackson) Conklin in Dec.1796 and had 10 more children( all of who married and had families.

Abraham(1766-1853) and his second wife are buried in the smaller old cemetery in Beemerville New Jersey( just opposite Space Farms ( an animal petting zoo). Both Abraham's and Elizabeth's stones are standing and quite readable too the last time I saw them in July or August. Abraham is my direct gr.gr.gr.gr.granfather.

Abraham was the son of Michael and Mehitable Dunning, and Michael was the son of Michael Dunning and Margaret Foster (married in LongIsland New York in 1709 or 1710), and moved to Orange.Co. N.Y. to help develope the town of Goshen. A lot of Michael and Margaret's descendants are still around the orange.co area here . Through "cousin Milo Benjamin Dunning "notes Michael and Margaret was said to of had 6 sons and 3 daughters. 4 of the sons' names I have and John,Michael,Samuel,and James (with a question on a son named William) and a daughters name ,Eleanor.
