About Ada Schlabach

Ada J. Schlabach 89, of 3196 CR 114, Sugarcreek, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. She was born on March 31, 1933 to the late John P. and Mattie (Miller) Troyer. On September 14, 1954 she married Roman J. Schlabach who preceded her in death on July 12, 2020. Ada was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

She is survived by her children, John (Ella) Schlabach of Apple Creek, Esta (Melvin) Miller of Millersburg, Ivan (Susie) Schlabach of Fresno, David (Anna) Schlabach of Fresno, Effie (Jonas) Burkholder of Sugarcreek, Edna (Paul) Miller of Sugarcreek, Andy (Esta) Schlabach of Millersburg, Reuben (Rachel) Schlabach of Dundee, and Eli (Anna) Schlabach of the home; 45 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; siblings David (Fannie) Troyer of Charm, Sarah (late Albert) Raber of Becks Mills and Anna Troyer of Charm; and a sister-in-law Lizzie (late Levi) Troyer of Becks Mills.

In addition to her parents and her husband Roman, she was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren, her brother Levi Troyer and brother-in-law Albert Raber.

Funeral services will be held at the home on Friday, July 29, at 9:00 AM with Bishop Daniel E. Raber officiating. Burial will follow in the Schlabach Cemetery. Friends may call at the home after 2 PM on Wednesday and any time on Thursday. A heart-felt thank you to LifeCare Hospice for their kindness and compassion.
