Birth record for Adam actually lists his father as James Borthwick, with mother not listed. It is believed that John was actually the father... but we need to be open to the fact that the record might be correct. There is very little evidence that James was around on PEI. A book on local history mentions James and that he helped with the John's family when John died... but I have found little recorded for James ... A[r'20
