Admiral Lord Sir Amelius Beauclerk was born on 23 May 1771.1 He was the son of Aubrey Beauclerk, 5th Duke of Saint Albans and Lady Catherine Ponsonby.2 He died on 10 December 1846 at age 75, unmarried.1

    He was commissioned in 1782 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He fought in the Blockade of Toulon in 1794.1 He was invested as a Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.) in 1809.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in 1810 in the service of the Royal Marines.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the Blue in 1811.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the White in 1812.1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the Red in 1814.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1815.1 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the White in 1819.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Lisbon and Portuguese Coast between 1824 and 1827.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Blue in 1830.1 He was Naval Aide-de-Camp to King William IV in 1830.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Hanoverian Order (G.C.H.) in 1831.1 He was invested as a Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1835.1 He was Commander-in-Chief of the Plymouth between 1836 and 1839.1 He gained the rank of Admiral of the White.1 He was Naval Aide-de-Camp to Queen Victoria.1 He lived at Winchfield House, Hampshire, England.1
