Mrs. Ailey McGill Galbreath, 72, of Ailey, Route 1, died in a local hospital Saturday following an extended illness.
A native of Toombs County, she had resided in the community her entire life. She was a member of the New Corinth Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from the New Corinth Baptist Church, with the Rev. G.D. Ricketson, officiating. Interment was in the Galbreath Cemetery with Murchison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Delmas Galbreath, Edgar Galbreath, S.L. Galbreath, H.H. Galbreath, Jr., I.D. Galbreath and G.P. Tippett.
In addition to her husband, George W. Galbreath, Sr., Route 1, Ailey, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Herman G. Burns of Augusta and Mrs. Paul B. Jones of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight sons, Robert L., George, Jr., of Ailey, Emmett of Route 2, Vidalia, John H., of the U.S. Army, California, Hiram of Ailey, William T., of the U.S. Marines, Japan, Daniel W., Japan, Herbert D. of Jonesboro, and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
