The deceased was born in Gulbrandsdalen, Norway, on April 15, 1836. He reached the age of 88 years, 1 month and 13 days. In 1854, Mr. Enerson, with his parents, Einar and Berit E (Boe) Enerson, left their native land. They landed at Quebec, Canada, and crossed over into the United States at Detroit. At Detroit the father was taken suddenly ill with cholera and he and his youngest son died there after a very short illness. The family hurried on to Wisconsin and upon arriving at Stoughton the mother and youngest daughter there quickly died from the same epidemic. After a short time spent in Dane county Mr. Enerson went to the Coon’s Prairie settlement in what is now Vernon county and a few months later he came to Black River Falls. This was in 1855. He had learned something of the rudiments of the carpenters trade in his native land and adopted this as his work.

In 1864 he began the erection of the house better known of late as the John Johnson residence in the third ward of this city. This he completed in 1865, and on July 8th of that year he was united in marriage to Miss Jettemina Matson at Coon Prairie, Wis., Rev. Preus performing the ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Enerson at once commenced housekeeping in their own home and continued to reside there until 1871, when they disposed of their residence to Alex Hyslop and they removed to the town of Northfield.

To Albert Enerson and wife were born eight children, two died in infancy and six remain. The living are Mrs. Berthilda A Nelson, Altoona; Luther E, Racine; Mrs. Nora G Johnson, Northfield; Charles A, Black River Falls; Enoch T, Garden Valley, and Elmer M, of Racine. In 1909, Mr and Mrs. Enerson retired from active farm work and again became residents of this city. After the death of Mrs. Enerson, June 24, 1919, the home was broken up and Mr. Enerson lived mainly with his sons Charles A. and Enoch T.
