About Alcaha Sisson
A user originally claimed that Alcaha Crandall was born in Shaftsbury, a New Hampshire Grant, but this is unlikely. Alcaha was born in 1755, while Shaftsbury wasn't settled until 1761, mostly by people from New Hampshire. It may be possible that she migrated north with parents at some point as part of a group competing for the land on behalf of New York, but she wasn't likely born in present Vermont. Her parents came from Dutchess County, so I've presumed that this would be a more likely birth place. Primary source documentation or citation showing otherwise would be welcomed.
