About Aletta Hanekom
Aletta "Let" Hanekom (1971 - 2012)
Brief overview:
Let (41), from Farm Gunsfontein, in Sutherland, NC, was brutally murdered - tortured and stabbed 52 times on 20th January 2012. Let left to visit her mother and did not return home. Her cousin found her body next lying on the side of the road the following morning.
The prime suspect is believed to be a man who was previously charged with another gruesome murder nearby, two years prior. Farm worker Isak van Wyk was stabbed, his throat slit and set light on Gunsfontein farm in 2009. His alleged killer was set free by cops because they did not have enough evidence to keep him behind bars. As there was human flesh underneath Lets' fingernails, station Commissioner Captain Zaggeus van Wyk says police will use DNA evidence to see if they can link this man to Lets' murder.
