Alexander Fraser, Master and Tutor of Lovat

Master of Lovat from 1643, he took over the unit and the title of Tutor of Lovat after the death of Sir James Fraser. He may have been Colonel in his own right, or Lieutenant Colonel to Lord Lovat. He was captured at Worcester but managed to escape.

The heir: Hugh Fraser, 7th Lord Fraser of Lovat, b 1592, m 1614 Isabel (d 1636) dtr of Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss by his 2nd wife Mary dtr of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune, and d 16 Feb 1646 having had issue:

..A3 Alexander Fraser, took and retained title of Master of Lovat after his brother Hugh's death, b 1626, m Sybilla Mackenzie, widow of Ian Mor Macleod, 16th Chief of Macleod and dtr of Kenneth, 1st Lord Mackenzie of Kintail, and d 27 June 1671 leaving one dtr.
