About Alexander Gaston
It is said that the four brothers, Hugh, Joseph, John and Alexander, came at the same time and "landed in New Jersey," and, as we know from a Bible record and otherwise that Joseph arrived "about 1720," it is probable that is the approximate date of their arrival at (presumably) the port of Perth Amboy.

Emigrated to American with his brother John about 1720-26 and settled at Richmond, Massachusetts. He is thought to have had a third brother who settled in New Jersey. (Mr. Marshall Gaston of Oberlin, Ohio, made before 1892 a nearly complete record of the descendants of the children of this Alexander Gaston, down to his own generation.) [4]
