Death and Burial

Alexander Matheson Lang died at Bridgetown in Barbados. IMDb: Matheson Lang He was interred in Inverness, where his father had been a minister and where he had spent his boyhood days. The body had been brought home to the Highland capital for interment by Mrs Matheson Lang (formerly Miss Hutin Britton) and she was the chief mourner at the memorial service which was held in the West Church where Mr Lang's father had been minister. Two of Mr Lang's sisters , Mrs Somerled MacDonald, Inverness, and Miss Lang, Nairn, were prevented by illness from attending. Included in the large congregation were Sir Murdoch MacDonald, M.P. for the Inverness Division , and representatives of the Inverness Town and County Councils . The Rev G. H. Grant , minister of the West Church and the Rev . Alexander Boyd minister of St Mary's Gaelic Church officiated . The interment took place at Tomnahurich cemetery where his father and mother were buried. Find A Grave Memorial
