Alexander Alerhand, born in June 1928, in Kraków, Poland, discusses his family; his father being in the Polish reserve and being called up in 1939; and surviving in a POW camp, the Germans arriving in Kraków; the introduction of anti-Jewish laws; moving to a village with his mother and sister outside of Kraków; subsisting by trading their belongings; living in the Kraków ghetto and working at the airport; escaping from a Belzec transport; and internment in six, unnamed, camps.
