Alexander Morain Shoemaker, son of Lekey Shoemaker of Nauvoo, Illinois, was born 8 July 1813, in Pendleton county, Kentucky. Came to Utah October 2, 1847, Charles C. Rich company. He married Margaret Taylor (born 8 September 18181), daughter of Joseph Taylor of Kentucky, on 9 October 1835 in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania. Their family home was in Plain City, Utah. Alexander M. Shoemaker was a farmer. He died 20 April 1872.
