Alexis CYR was born about 1777 in St-Basile, New Brunswick.
He appeared in the 1820 US census of Matawascah Parish, as Elecis Cyr. He appeared in the 1830 US census of Madawaska, as Alexr. Cere, living in a household aged 40-50, with one male 15-10, another male 20-30, a female 30-40, a female 5-10, two females 10-15, and one female 15-20 (p.380).
In the 1833 New Brunswick census of Madawaska (p.3), Alexis and his wife are living in the household of their sons Frederick, Benoni and Vital, along with four of their daughters. Alexis appeared in the 1840 US Census of Aroostook Co., Maine, in Madawaska North of the St.John River (now in New Brunswick), as Alexis Cyr, head of a household that included one male aged 10-14, three males aged 15-19, two males aged 60-70, one female aged under 5, one female aged 5-9, two females aged 10-14, two females aged 15-19, one female aged 20-29, and one female aged 30-39.(p.51)
Alexis CYR died in 1842.
He was married to Victoire THÉRIAULT on 25 Apr 1804 in St-Basile, New Brunswick.
