Alfred L. Dore', Sr., age 82, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at UPMC Hamot. He was born July 22, 1929 in Toronto, Canada a son of the late Adlard and Grace Dore'.
Alfred was a bricklayer and was a Lifetime Member of the Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers retiring 20 years ago.
He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, the Sons of Lake Erie, the WIT (Winnebago-Itasca Travelers) Club, and the Goodtimers Club. Alfred enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping and boating and working in his garden.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Alice Bierer Dore' in 2010 and a brother Ronald Dore'.
He is survived by a daughter, Joanne A. Valimont and her husband Bob, of Erie, and two sons, Alfred L. Dore', Jr., and his wife Karen, of Edinboro, and Bill H. Dore' and his wife Rose, of Bear Lake, Pa. He is further survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and are invited to attend services there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Dyke of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
