FRED HUMPHRIES DIES OF APPOPLEXY
POPULAR DIXONITE PASSED AWAY THIS AFTERNOON AT HIS HOME.
BULLETIN.
Alfred Humphries, who was stricken with apoplexy this morning, passed away this afternoon at three o’clock at his home at 115 Crawford avenue. Today's was his first attack, but the ruptured blood vessel was an unusually large one, death resulting within a few hours. Mr. Humphries had lived in Dixon many years and was a very popular and well known man. His death is mourned by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Humphries.
Fred Humphries, 115 Crawford avenue, manager of the meat department of the E. J. Countryman & Co. store, was stricken with apoplexy while at work this morning and while his condition at the present time is not critical, it is impossible to predict the outcome. The stricken man was taken to his home, where he is under the care of his physician.'
