Alfred, third child of Adam Young and Emma Jane Gerry, was baptized April 24, 1898, at Saint Johns Presbyterian Church, Quilmes (current Florencio Varela) Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, by the Reverend Lachlan Mc Neill.

He died at 62 years of age and was buried next to his siblings and further relatives.

His siblings were: George Adam, Jane, Adam Edgar, Celia Eliza, Lucy Mary, Lucy Margaret and Stella Maria.
