About Lady Alice Daubeney

Alice de Montfort married firstly, about 1292, William Montagu, 2nd Baron Montagu,[2] by whom she had four sons and seven daughters:[3]

Alice Montagu, eldest daughter, who married, before 27 January 1333, as his first wife, Sir Ralph Daubeney (3 March 1305 to c.1378), by whom she was the mother of Sir Giles Daubeney (d. 24 June 1386).[13][14]

General Notes: son and heir born 3 March 1304/5. On 2 July 1323 the King notified to the Duke of Brittany, the Bishop of Dol, and all others, that Ralph was heir of Elis. Having proved his age, the King took his homage, and he had livery of his father's lands, 21 June 1326. Was knighted and had robes as a banneret, 16 January 1326/7. He was summoned for Milittry Service against the Scots, 27 March 1335, and to a Council, 25 February 1341/2, by writs directed Radulfo Daubeny or Daubeney. He was taken prisoner by the Scots, and was not released till after 6 October 1337. Was in the King's division at the battle of Crecy, being in the retinue of the Bishop of Durham, and was at the siege of Calais in the retinue of the Earl of Huntingdon.
